Yesterday I switched my public creator TikTok account to a private one.

I’ve been on the app for just under a year, and while I enjoyed tremendous growth and success for the first four to five months, since then, my account has suffered ample follower loss (which I think, in most cases is a result of app “cleaning”) and repeated suppressions, which prevent my content from being sent out to the “For You Page,” of followers and new accounts, alike.

While I know it’s an issue of the algorithm, I also know the steps I could take to improve performance on that platform. To improve my performance would be to betray myself. It would require me to choose one narrow niche and recreate all too similar versions of the same thing over and over again. I have no desire to do that.

Similarly, I’ve no desire to maintain a presence on the app, knowing that my creations will continue to flail, falter, and flop as long as I continue to produce how and what I wish to produce.

In the end, this is why I have been working so tirelessly to improve this website. I would like to comb through the content on TikTok and bring it here, in time.

With that said, please do take a moment to visit the Collections tab in the menu of this page. I am thinking about creating menu items for each broad category of video content in the coming days, but for now, you can access loads of short videos through the Collections tab, as it will reveal a drop down menu of subcategories, which link to pages of video galleries.

Unlike the other platforms, I am unable to track video views on items in each of my galleries. I actually think this is a good thing for my mental health, but I would like to have some insight regarding what my site visitors enjoy and what sort of content you would like to see more of. In any event, I’ve begun installing polls on some pages, and I invite you to make your opinion known by participating in these. Also, I invite you to leave comments anywhere on this site because I would love to engage in conversation with you all!

For now, I will leave you with the video I shared to TikTok this morning, informing my friends of my plan to exit the stage.
